Meetings Mean Business Canada (MMBC), is the advocacy voice of the meetings and business events industry in Canada. Meetings and business events contribute over $19.3 billion CAD in GDP annually and sustain over 229,000 direct full-time jobs. Our key focus is to communicate the economic and social value of face-to-face meetings and business events to elected officials at all levels of government across the country in order to promote investment to ensure our industry prospers. This is intended to assist our leaders in government as they shape policy and legislation to grow the industry across Canada.
MMBC is managed by a dedicated Executive Team and passionate Board of Directors, that represent large and small businesses in the meetings sector from coast to coast. Having representation from across Canada and from a wide variety of organizations involved in the meetings economy is critical to supporting the coalition and ensuring that our message is being developed from the grass roots. This also allows us to listen to regional issues that we can amplify to support the thousands of small businesses in our industry.
MMBC has collected stories from across the country that showcase the impact of the meetings on the Canadian economy. These stories shine a light on the diversity and gender balance that exists in the Meetings Sector. We encourage you to watch the video stories and share your stories with us: https://www.meetingsmeanbusiness.ca/toolkits
MMBC is part of The Meetings Mean Business Coalition (MMB), a cross-industry communications and advocacy initiative and platform for industry professionals in every corner of the globe to better advocate for the power of face-to-face meetings.
