Shaman is the Founder & CEO of Gocanna, a national cannabis tourism consulting and consumer guidance service. The Prince Edward Island company assists operators in understanding the legal frameworks, developing strategic plans and implementing operational policies that allow them to meet the needs and interests of cannabis consumers. In addition to business development coaching, Gocanna offers an online guide for consumers that outlines the varying cannabis frameworks in each Canadian province so that individuals are informed about the differing regulations, regardless of where they travel.
A recognized cannabis tourism expert, industry thought leader and a featured speaker at cannabis conferences across Canada, Shaman projected the value of the Canadian cannabis tourism industry to be in excess of $2 billion dollars at MJBizCon INT’L and in December 2018 at O’Cannabiz, introduced the concept of ‘visitor touch-points” in navigating a cannabis consumer through the customer journey of a business or event through professional customer service techniques.
Shaman is also an experienced cannabis tourism event planner and organized PEI’s first recreational cannabis event on October 19th, 2018. This event hallmarked a new era of Canadian hospitality where an adult attendee could legally consume alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and consume cannabis products at the same venue.
In May 2018, Gocanna hosted the Atlantic Cannabis Conference in Charlottetown, PEI, bringing together regional industry leaders and adult consumers alike to showcase the budding cannabis industry in Atlantic Canada. With more than 50% of attendees from out-of-province, the ACExpo was both a successful educational event and a shoulder-season tourism event.
With the sole mission of connecting people and businesses in a safe and legal way, Gocanna is Canada’s Cannabis Tourism Guide.
