WestJet has launched a new non-stop service between Calgary and Houston, which will run six times a week. The inaugural flight left Calgary International Airport at 10:25 a.m. MDT on September 8, 2015.
“As the two largest oil cities in North America, Calgary-Houston is the most-requested route from our corporate travel clients in Western Canada,” said Chris Avery, WestJet vice-president, Network Planning, Alliances and Corporate Development. “And because of the challenges facing the energy sector today, there has never been a better time to take a serious look at our lower fares, amenities in Plus, the benefits of our WestJet Rewards program, and our ever-expanding network of destinations.”
“WestJet’s newest service to Houston, Texas, will be a great addition for YYC’s business and leisure travellers looking to connect to the centre of space exploration and capital of the international energy industry,” said Stephan Poirier, senior vice-president and chief commercial officer for The Calgary Airport Authority. “We continually work with our airline partners to ensure that Albertans experience diverse air access through Calgary International Airport.”
