VICTORIA, B.C. — The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa has completed an extensive renovation of its 156 guestrooms and 72 suites, it was announced Sept. 21.
The refurbishment comes in advance of a busy month as the resort plays host to the 2016 Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship September 19-25, on the Mountain Course, one of two 18-hole Nicklaus Design golf courses at the property.
The renovation project has brought new furniture, including tables, chairs, desk, lamps and pull-out sofa beds to all guestrooms and suites. Guestrooms also feature new wall finishing throughout the bedroom, living area and bathrooms. Redesigned bathrooms include a mirror providing optimal light, and each bedroom’s headboard has been updated with built-in reading lights. As part of the redesign, technology in the room was upgraded to include bedside USB charging stations, as well as new clock radios with iPhone 5 charging ports. Fully renovated corridors are designed to guide guests more easily.

Another sports amenity the Westin Bear Mountain offers is a Tennis Concierge, who helps guests improve their game from their footwork to footwear, perfecting their backhand and restringing their racket. In addition, the resort has partnerships with Cycling Canada and Golf Canada and is the high-performance training centre for the Canadian National Mountain Bike Team.
