Meetings + Incentive Travel (M+IT) is launching two new series of exclusive videos on meetingscanada.com today. The new series are “Best Advice” and “How To.”
“Our new Best Advice and How To series of videos were created to inform and inspire. Each one offers insights and tips to help people grow professionally and personally,” says Lori Smith, editor, M+IT. “We’re indebted to the many industry leaders and experts who collaborated with us on the videos. They gave up their time to share knowledge and advice. It was a pleasure to work with each and every one of them!”
The “Best Advice” series features an impressive line-up of industry leaders sharing advice that has led to their success, as well as the advice they’d give to industry newcomers. It kicks off with Trevor Lui, director of operations and sustainability, The International Centre and M+IT’s 2014 Hall of Fame Inductee in the Industry Builder category. Lui explains how a boss telling him he had outgrown his job changed his career and brought new opportunities (click on image to play).
The Best Advice series includes words of advice from some 25 industry leaders with more to come. Contributors include Les Selby, CMP, CMM, Aimia; Ellie MacPherson, SVP, SM+i; Helene Moberg, VP, Destination Halifax; Mariella Irivarren, CMP, Event Manager, BMO; Julie Calvert, CMP, CMM, The Canadian Payroll Association; Doug Keely, The Mark of a Leader; and other members of M+IT’s Hall of Fame.
New videos in the series will debut approximately every two weeks. Episode two will go live on Monday, November 7th. It will feature Janet Jakobsen, CMP, MBA, professor, Niagara College.
The new “How To” series features industry experts sharing tips and insights on topics such as meeting design, cross-mentoring, social media, networking. productivity, new technology and more. It debuts with the first of four videos on how to meet and play presented by Roger Haskett of Engagement Unlimited. Haskett is a keynote speaker, facilitator, conference emcee and master of play. In his first video, he explains the neuroscience behind social pain and why planners have to stop inflicting it on attendees (click on image to play).
The second video in Haskett’s Meet & Play series will be live on meetingscanada.com on Monday, November 14, 2016. Episodes 3 and 4 will be available on December 3 and 19, 2016.
The Best Advice and How To series join M+IT‘s first video series, Canada Update, which focuses on new event spaces, hotel openings, renos, f&b and more. The next episode of Canada Update will go live on November 28, 2016.
