
CANCUN, MEXICO — Melody Maker Cancun, an all-inclusive resort that bills itself as a “Vegas-meets-Cancun” experience, has opened in the Mexican resort town’s Hotel Zone.
Themed
on a contemporary design, the 283,000-square-foot property features 679 guestrooms
and suites, many with floor-to-ceiling French balconies. There are beachfront
villas providing waterfront views of the Caribbean Sea or the Nichupté Lagoon;
select villas offer private infinity pools.
Named after
the British Melody Maker music magazine, the property fulfills the ‘Vegas’ part
of its mandate by offering a concert venue, in the main pool area, that presents
live performances by the likes of Paris Hilton and David Guetta and accommodates
4,000 people. Hotel guests receive complimentary entry to onsite concerts.
Other onsite entertainment venues include Delirio Day Bar, featuring performances by resident and guest DJs (VIP cabins and bottle service are also available). A first-floor VIP deck offers ocean views, a private infinity pool, sun lounge, Jacuzzi and bar service.
To accommodate groups, the resort houses 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space that can accommodate up to 1,000 people. In May, the hotel plans to open a convention center that will increase its event space to more than 33,000 square feet.
Dining options include Social International Market, offering serving stations; Botánico, serving Asian cuisine; Talavera Mexican Restaurant; Melody Maker Restaurant, featuring a daily four-course set menu; and the oceanfront Delirio Beach House serving Mediterranean fare. Additionally, the resort offers room service, a pool menu at Delirio Day Club, and a Champagne bar and Nespresso coffee bar. Coming soon: A rooftop bar.
Wellness options include a 24-hour fitness centre, spa, oceanfront yoga, beachside boot camp, water aerobics (AQUAGYM) and healthy dining options.
In
addition, the resort is within walking distance of major shopping centers,
including La Isla Shopping Mall and Fashion Avenue.
