Toronto-based event management agency Event Spectrum Inc. has opened a U.S. sales office in St. Louis, Missouri. It is the company’s first foray into the American market.
Claire Townsend, a former client of Event Spectrum, is spearheading the expansion. With more than 12 years of business experience as a corporate communications and event management professional, Townsend joins the team with a proven track record and the motivation to expand the brand in the competitive U.S. market.
“Claire’s collaborative approach, project management expertise, and team spirit make her an excellent fit for this new and exciting role,” says Cynthia Richards, president of Event Spectrum Inc.
Townsend’s career includes work experience in both the public and private sectors. In January 2010, she joined TD Bank Group’s Corporate and Public Affairs team as a corporate communications manager. In her most recent position, she was a member of the corporate projects team where she was responsible for partnering with internal partners and external vendors to deliver key communications initiatives and events, including TD’s online and print Annual Report, Annual General Meeting, and a range of engaging and informative senior management conferences.
Prior to TD, Townsend was a communications specialist at AstraZeneca Canada Pharmaceuticals for three years where she was responsible for change management issues and providing communications support and counsel to the president and senior executives. She also spent five years at Canadian Tire Corporation as a senior communications advisor and worked as a communication officer for the Ministry of Finance.
In a release to the industry, Event Spectrum explains that the St. Louis, Missouri location was “carefully selected to provide a competitive edge in the event management industry landscape, while still maintaining the welcoming and homelike company culture, which has very much been a part of the company’s success over the last two decades.”
