TORONTO — Toronto’s Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre has unveiled a multi-million-dollar renovation that has refreshed guestrooms and increased in-room entertainment options, it was announced last month.
Guestrooms now feature 49-inch flat-screen TVs and suites offer 55-inch TVs. Most bathtubs have been replaced with walk-in showers and spa-like lighting. New furniture includes oversized chaise lounges that double as pullout beds. Starting this fall, the hotel will offer mobile keyless entry.
On the in-room entertainment side, the redesigned hotel offers GuestTek’s Managed Video Platform (MVP), which complies with Marriott’s GRE (Guestroom Entertainment) services. Through a partnership with Netflix in summer 2015, the property now provides access to Netflix and YouTube. In addition, Marriott Rewards members receive complimentary high-speed Internet.
Other hotel amenities include a newly renovated 24-hour fitness centre outfitted with new equipment and an indoor pool and located on the 18th floor providing views of downtown Toronto.
A Greatroom lobby offers snacks and beverages, including complimentary full breakfast buffet and evening hot/cold hors d’oeuvres.
