Following a multi-million dollar reno, the new Toronto Marriott City Centre has been unveiled. The property, formerly the Renaissance Toronto Downtown, is attached to the Rogers Centre and is within easy walking distance of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the CN Tower, the Air Canada Centre and Ripley’s Aquarium.
The renovation and renaming was part of the ongoing redesign of Marriott Hotels, the signature brand of Marriott International.
“Our focus was to bring the brand to life, enabling us to create brilliant experiences for all our travelers, business or pleasure,” says Dan Woodburn, general manager. “Our approach to the transformation project was to elevate key touchpoints of the guest experience through applying inventive and dynamic cornerstone values.”
The property, which is known for its field-view guestrooms, has 313 guestrooms, 35 suites, and 11 meeting rooms over 12, 344 square feet, including the Northern Lights Ballroom (capacity: 320 attendees).
Highlights of the revamp, include:
- Guestrooms tranformed to feature mobile check-in and keyless entry, spa-inspired bathrooms, new Simmons Recharge Plush mattresses and a state-of-the-art entertainment system featuring seamless access through 55″ LED HD televisions offering Netflix, YouTube and other popular apps.
- Fully, renovated fitness centre featuring all new equipment, Fitness on Demand virtual fitness classes and an oversized-heated indoor pool
- Renovated lobby-level restaurant
