Industry veteran Franck Arnold is the new general manager at The Ritz-Carlton Toronto.
Franck has more than 25 years experience in both luxury brand and independent and privately owned properties throughout North America, the United Kingdom and Europe.
“I am thrilled to return to North America to start a new chapter of my hotelier’s life in Canada, and to have the privilege to lead the team of such an exciting Ritz-Carlton property in thriving Toronto,” he says.
Franck joins The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto from Edinburgh, where he was the general manager of The Balmoral, a five-star iconic Rocco Forte Hotel. Prior to joining Rocco Forte Hotels, Franck served as the managing director of The Jefferson in Washington, DC, as well as hotel manager of the Four Seasons Chicago and The Barclay Intercontinental in New York prior to that.
Franck’s entrance to the industry began with IHG Hotel’s Corporate Management Training Program. His tenure includes roles as Assistant Restaurant Manager, Rooms Division Manager Trainee, Assistant Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Assistant Manager.
During his thirteen years with IHG, Franck obtained extensive international experience through leadership positions at properties in Paris, London, Athens, Brussels, Madrid and New York.
An active member of the industry community, Franck served on the board of the British Hospitality Association in Scotland, the Business Improvement District of Edinburgh Centre and the Edinburgh Hotel Association. In addition, he is the recipient of numerous industry accolades which include the award of Master Inn holder, Fellow in Hospitality and the Freedom of the City of London Award.
Franck attended the Hotel School of Strasbourg (France) where he earned his professional diplomas and degree in Hotel Management and Culinary Arts. Franck also received his Masters in Hotel Administration from IMHI Cornell-ESSEC (Paris) and a MBA from Henley Management College (UK). Franck is fluent in English, French and Spanish, and is an avid marathon runner, cyclist and golfer.
Franck began his new position on April 18th.. He will be joined by his wife, Salima and three children later this summer.
