Let’s go to The Ex!
For real this year.
After a pandemic-forced two-year hiatus, the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) announced this week that it is finally returning in person this summer.

The CNE, or the Ex, as it’s affectionately called, is known as the event of the summer in Toronto.
“We can’t wait to welcome fans back to the CNE this summer…and we are actively preparing for the in-person return of Ontario’s beloved tradition,” Darrell Brown, CNE Executive Director told the Daily Hive. “More than anything, the CNE is excited to bring back our employees, and to create thousands more summer jobs and economic opportunities directly, and indirectly through our vendors, performers, and local businesses whose livelihoods have been impacted by the pandemic.”
This year, the CNE is set to run from August 19 to September 5, and is expected to include all the usual carnival rides, attractions, and wacky food stands it is known for.
