Looking for some interesting ways to change up your event? Well, it’s time to swap out the old for the new. Put a spin on the traditional and take your show to the next level with some outside-the-box thinking. Start with your beverages.
The swap: alcohol for mocktails
Having a fully stocked bar at any event is greatly appreciated. Expanding past the regular bar rail with different liquors, mixes and signature drinks is now the norm. And at one point, having one non-alcoholic beverage was the polite thing to do (hello, random punch). But now, mocktails are the thing to do. Rather than one, it’s appropriate to have several to choose from.
Base your mocktail on the season and attendees and guests will truly appreciate it. On those hot summer days, a signature lemonade or iced tea is a refreshing and welcome treat. And in the colder winter months, hot apple cider will warm up your guests.

While you may find this option appealing economically, be sure to evaluate your choices. Some mocktails will actually be less cost-effective than a regular alcoholic beverage, due to the ingredients needs. There’s no need to go overboard on the options. Stick with a couple crowd-pleasers and you’ll be set.
The swap: Coffee for juice
Ok, you can’t remove coffee from a conference or trade show, unless you want some very grouchy attendees. So don’t completely swap. Instead, take into consideration those who aren’t caffeine lovers. A juice bar is a welcome change for those looking for a boost without that coffee taste. If possible, offer add-ons by way of immunity or energy boosters.
