Meetings + Incentive Travel (M+IT) in partnership with SITE Canada and with the support of the SITE Foundation is conducting a comprehensive survey of the Canadian incentive travel market.
A link to the 2018 M+IT–SITE Canada Incentive Travel Market Survey was sent on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 to incentive travel planners, who are members of SITE Canada and/or qualified subscribers to Meetings + Incentive Travel. These individuals have been asked to share information on a range of topics, including destination selection, budget ups and downs, government regulations, marketing, safety and security and more. The results will be released on August 15, 2018 at a special SITE Canada session at IncentiveWorks.
“Our goal is to support relevant and actionable research that provides insight into industry challenges, future trends and data that can help us all make better decisions for the future.” ~ Tina Weede, SITE Foundation
“Every industry needs up-to-date, substantive data to stay competitive. Meetings + Incentive Travel is delighted to partner with SITE Canada on this research project and is grateful for the support of the SITE Foundation,” says Lori Smith, editor, M+IT. “However, the success of the survey and the strength of its results rests on incentive travel planners across the country taking time out of their busy schedules to answer the questions. It’s a lot to ask and we are indebted to the planners who contribute their time and insights.”
“SITE Canada is excited to partner with M+IT on the annual Incentive Travel Market Survey. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide our members and the industry at large with valuable data to support the business case for incentive travel in Canada,” says Diane Alexander, president of SITE Canada and account executive at Strategic Meetings + Incentives. “We are thankful to have the support of the SITE Foundation in this endeavor and we look forward to presenting the findings at Incentive Works!”
Tina G. Weede, the SITE Foundation’s vice-president of Research and Content and president, CEP of Peerless Performance, explains that the SITE Foundation is excited to support SITE Canada and M+IT in conducting a survey of the Canadian incentive market. “Our goal is to support relevant and actionable research that provides insight into industry challenges, future trends and data that can help us all make better decisions for the future. We are so thankful for all the hard work of SITE Canada and M+IT, as they are always looking to provide additional long-term value to our members and to the industry.”
In compliance with CASL, only individuals who have given consent to either SITE Canada and/or Meetings + Incentive Travel have been emailed the survey link. Individuals responsible for the planning and/or execution of incentive travel programs, who have not received the email invitation and would like to participate in the study, should email Lori Smith (lori@newcom.ca).
DELIVERING THE RESULTS
The results of the M+IT–SITE Canada Incentive Travel Market Survey will be revealed in a special SITE Canada-led session at IncentiveWorks 2018 (August 14 + 15, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto).
“Checking the Pulse of Incentive Travel in Canada” will run from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on August 15, 2018. It will include a presentation of the findings revealed by the data collected, followed by a panel discussion reviewing the health of the industry. This discussion will include evaluating current trends, areas of growth across the country, factors that are driving purchasing decisions, challenges within the industry, and which Canadian destinations are competing most to win incentive travel groups. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in the discussion.
A selection of the survey results will also be presented in the September/October 2018 edition of Meetings + Incentive Travel.
