HIROSHIMA, JAPAN — Sheraton Hotels & Resorts announced this month the designation of Sheraton Hiroshima Hotel as a Sheraton Grand Hotel.
This designation welcomes the property to the brand’s new premier tier of hotels marked by their noteworthy destinations, distinguished designs and excellence in service.
Joining 17 other Sheraton Grand properties in the Asia Pacific region, including two in Japan, Sheraton Grand Hiroshima Hotel is recognized for its large, well-appointed guestrooms, exciting restaurant concepts and highly personalized service, among other qualities. Sheraton Grand is one of many initiatives currently underway for Sheraton 2020, a plan designed to solidify Sheraton as a leading hotel brand.
“We are thrilled to unveil Sheraton Grand Hiroshima Hotel, which joins a distinguished portfolio of the finest Sheraton properties worldwide,” said general manager Hiroyuki Yamamoto.
Sheraton Grand Hiroshima Hotel offers 238 guestrooms, including five suites. Every room features the Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience, a 37-inch flat-screen television, DVD player and high-speed Internet access. In addition, 29 Sheraton Club Rooms offer complimentary breakfast, soft drinks and cocktails, as well as 24-hour guest service.
Culinary venues include signature Japanese restaurant Miyabi-Tei, serving sushi and sashimi plus kaiseki dishes featuring Japanese shochu and sake; all-day dining restaurant Bridges, offering locally inspired flavours; and the Lobby Lounge, which serves the brand’s recently introduced lobby bar menu, Paired, comprised of artisanal small plates and eclectic bar snacks served alongside suggested premium wines and local craft beers.
Event spaces comprise a grand ballroom, comprising 3,638 square feet. Other amenities include Shine Spa for Sheraton, a pool and fitness centre.
The brand will continue to announce new Sheraton Grand properties across the globe, with the expectation of having 100 newly designated Sheraton Grand hotels by early 2017.
Sheraton Grand is one initiative underway for Sheraton 2020, a 10-point plan revealed in June 2015. Sheraton 2020 also includes a new multi-million dollar Sheraton-focused marketing campaign; the implementation of revenue and profit-driving initiatives to benefit owners and developers; and a goal of adding more than 150 new Sheraton hotels worldwide by 2020.
