BETHESDA, MD — Following a $30 million renovation, Sheraton Bay Point Resort has opened in Panama City Beach, on Florida’s Emerald Coast, it was announced Nov. 1.

Located within a 1,100-acre wildlife preserve on St. Andrews Bay, the property features 200 guestrooms and suites in the main building and 120 golf villas offering views of the pristine waters of St. Andrews Bay and fairway greens. Other amenities include three outdoor pools, watersports, onsite marina with fishing and water sport rentals, five HydroGrid lighted clay tennis courts, fitness centre, and 300-yard boardwalk to the resort’s private bay beach.
For golf enthusiasts, there are two championship courses, including the only Nicklaus designed course in Northwest Florida. Complementing the course is a pro shop, clubhouse, golf villa pool and Club 19 restaurant. The Nicklaus Course stretches over 7,000 yards and the Meadows Course covers 6,913 yards.
The 12,000-square-foot Serenity Spa offers more than 100 services, and serves a healthy food menu throughout the day. A partnership with Zents enables spa guests to combine specialized scents with their treatment.
Signature restaurant Tides offers American fare with a southern twist. Pelican’s, an open-air beach bar, serves fish tacos and burgers. Hammocks Beach Bar, located on the Bay Beach, offers snacks with local craft beers and cocktails.
On the meetings and events side, the resort features 60,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including a 12,000-square-foot ballroom; 8,000-square-foot junior ballroom; eight breakout rooms; 22 meeting rooms; an outdoor pavilion; private bay beach; and outdoor lawns.
“After our recently completed renovations and improvements throughout the property, we believe that adding Crescent’s renowned level of service will best position the Sheraton Bay Point Resort for future growth,” said Pat Shimon, general manager. “We expect the Sheraton Bay Point Resort to significantly raise the bar for resorts in this area and emerge as a leading choice among global travelers.”
Sheraton Bay Point Resort is close to the beaches on the Gulf of Mexico, Gulf World Marine Park, Captain Anderson’s Marina, and the shops at Pier Park, restaurants and bars in Panama City Beach. The resort is also close to Beaches International Airport (ECP) and Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS).
