SANTA CLARA, CA — The Santa Clara Marriott has unveiled a newly renovated 11,837-square-foot ballroom that caters to the specific needs of the companies in nearby Silicon Valley, it was announced June 13.

“A key component of the renovation was the ability to incorporate both functionality and security,” said Tim Herrmann, general manager of the hotel. “Tech companies require their meeting venues to maintain a high level of privacy as well as the ability to provide lightning-fast WiFi speeds.”
Highlights of the renovation include: art installations that celebrate the old and the new and the best of what Silicon Valley has to offer; new ballroom carpeting featuring a print circuit board design in homage to the computers that were first designed in the area; signature chandeliers of brushed stainless steel, highlighting the Silicon Valley influence in the design; complete upgrade of the ballroom sound system, lighting, electronic reader boards and audiovisual capabilities; renovation of four breakout meeting rooms (Monterey, Ponderosa, Sequioa and Sierra), each featuring natural light and walk-out patios.
The hotel is among the first properties in the Marriott brand to utilize mobile key, which enables guests to unlock their room from the Marriott app on their phone.
Owned by Host Hotel & Resorts, the Santa Clara Marriott features 759 guestrooms, including 11 suites. Onsite amenities include more than 27,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space and 25 meeting rooms. Dining options include Character’s Sports Bar & Grill, Starbucks Coffee and adjacent farm-to-table restaurant, Parcel 104. The hotel is close to the new Levi’s Stadium, home to the San Francisco 49ers and is adjacent to California’s Great American amusement park, four miles from San Jose International Airport, and provides easy access to sightseeing and leisure activities in San Francisco as well as Northern California’s wine regions. Activity options include a heated outdoor lap pool, tennis and bike rentals.
