BETHESDA, MD — Residence Inn by Marriott and Under Armour Connected Fitness have introduced a series of custom running routes that guests can access from each of Residence Inn’s more than 700 extended-stay properties in nine countries, it was announced June 20.
Each Residence Inn offers a curated two-mile or longer running route for guests’ use. Routes are available through Under Armour’s MapMyFitness, a fitness tracking app that can be downloaded on iOS and Android devices.
For business travelers with limited time to explore, some of the routes take runners past top tourist attractions and landmarks. For example, guests traveling to New York City can enjoy the route from the Residence Inn by Marriott New York Manhattan World Trade, which takes runners past the new One World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House in Battery Park.
The course from the recently opened Residence Inn Chicago Downtown/Loop takes guests to the Windy City’s central business district and through Millennium Park. Curated running routes provide an outdoor workout alternative so guests can maintain their fitness routines during long stays.
Residence Inn by Marriott offers extended-stay properties in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Central America. The brand offers suites with separate living, working, and sleeping zones. Additional amenities include fully functional kitchens, grocery delivery service, 24-hour markets and complimentary breakfasts. RI Mix evening events afford guests the opportunity to socialize and connect with the local community. Each Residence Inn offers free WiFi in both public and guests spaces.
As a member of the Marriott International portfolio, Residence Inn participates in the Marriott Rewards frequent guest program. Members earn their choice of points toward free vacations or frequent flyer mileage for dollars spent at any of the nearly 4,500 Marriott hotels worldwide.
The Under Armour Connected Fitness platform powers a digital health and fitness community through a suite of applications: UA Record, MapMyFitness, Endomondo and MyFitnessPal.
