Tourism Quebec and Tourisme Montréal have won the bid to host the next edition of Rendez-vous Canada (RVC), Canada’s top international tourism marketplace. Rendez-vous 2016 will be held April 24-27 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
The appointment-based show, which is the Canadian Tourism Commission’s (CTC) flagship event, is attended by global travel buyers from more than 20 countries. These buyers participate in thousands of one-on-one meetings with Canadian tourism suppliers, brokering deals and closing sales which help grow the $88.5 billion Canadian tourism industry and support the 619,000 related jobs.
Montréal is world-renowned for its fashion, food, arts and culture, as well as its unique and authentic tourism experiences,” says David Goldstein, CTC president and CEO. “We’re thrilled to have this city and province in the spotlight for the hundreds of global buyers and media who will gather here in 2016 as the momentum in tourism growth continues its upward trend.”
“Tourisme Montréal is proud to host Rendez-vous Canada, a major event that will put the spotlight on our destination,” says Yves Lalumière, president and CEO at Tourisme Montréal. “We are confident that the tourism industry professionals coming from 28 countries to attend Rendez-vous Canada will be delighted by their visit to Montreal in April 2016. I want to acknowledge the collaboration with the ministère du Tourisme du Québec who actively participated in Montréal’s bid.”
