Toronto’s Bloor Cinema has reopened with a new interior, new name and a new meetings component to its business plan.
Rechristened the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema, the 700-seat facility is now the permanent home of the city’s premier documentary film festival featured in its name.
On top of that, the cinema will, on a day-to-day basis, devote about 80 per cent of its programming to documentaries.
During the day, the Bloor will be available for private events, such as corporate meetings, presentations and screenings.
The renovated cinema features a larger screen and a look that restores the building’s 1940s-era finishes and architecture.
On top of that, there’s a new digital projection system and Dolby digital sound.
