QUEBEC CITY — It’s shaping up to be a busy fall season for the Québec City Convention Centre, which is expecting to host more than 30,000 delegates at the 33 conferences, meetings, and shows on tap for the season, it was announced Aug. 24.
Combined, these conference attendees are expected to generate 50,000 room-nights at Québec City hotels and pump an estimated $32 million into the local economy.
No sooner does the Convention Centre see off the Federation quebecoise des municipalites and their convention than the third International Summit of Cooperatives arrives with its 2,000 attendees. Other events include BENEFIQ 2016, the Congrès 2016 de l’Ordre des hygiénistes dentaires du Québec, the Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference, the Quebec Veterinary Conference, the ESSS-CSN Conference, Quebec City Comiccon and Cartoon Connection Canada and Pixel Animation.
Renowned speaker October closes with Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield. One of the biggest business conferences ever held in Québec City, the Junior Chamber International (JCI) World Congress will take place from Oct. 30 to Nov. 4 at the Québec City Convention Centre. More than 3,000 young professionals age 18 to 40 from 125 countries will visit Québec City for the event.
