German carrier Lufthansa has expanded its long-haul services from Montreal to include its Frankfurt hub and is launching a new route from Toronto to Munich.
The new Montreal-Frankfurt service started on May 16th and will continue operation until October 12. The non-stop flights will operate five times a week, from Tuesdays to Fridays, as well as on Sundays, using an Airbus A340-300 and A330-300 aircraft in a Business and Economy Class configuration.
“Lufthansa is very pleased to offer Quebec travellers access to a second destination in Europe, offering them increased access to more than 450 destinations in 116 countries,” Hans DeHaan, Director, Lufthansa Group Canada said. “This reflects Lufthansa’s commitment to the Canadian market and the high level of demand we are seeing here.” Lufthansa already operates daily non-stop flights between Munich and Montreal. As well, partner airline, SWISS, offers six services a week to its hub in Zurich.
The new Toronto to Munich route will begin service on June 5th, 2014.
