Alterra Mountain Company, the owner of Station Mont Tremblant, has announced a first set of capital investments into the operation, which it purchased in April 2017.

Tremblant Grand Manitou – Expansion (CNW Group/Tremblant Resort Association)
In the coming months, more than $17 million will be invested into the infrastructure of the mountain. Improvements include the expansion and renovation of the main summit building, Le Grand Manitou; renovation of La Fourchette du Diable on the North Side base; and the replacement of a triple lift on the upper North Side with a quad lift.
“We are extremely proud to announce this major investment at Station Mont Tremblant. With industry forerunner Alterra Mountain Company lending us the power and the expertise to do so—a firm created only a few months ago—more than $17 million will be invested this year,” said Patrice Malo, president and chief operating officer, Station Mont Tremblant.
Expansion and Renovations—Le Grand Manitou
The footprint of Le Grand Manitou will be increased to showcase the building’s abundance of windows. Four hundred seats will be added and the building’s foodservice area will be reinvented. Le Grand Manitou is available for group use. Work on the building will begin this summer, with completion scheduled for the start of the 2019 ski season.
Renovation of La Fourchette du Diable
Located on the North Side of Mont Tremblant, the footprint of La Fourchette du Diable will also be increased. The renovation will turn the northern tip of the building into a permanent structure. In addition, an annex will be built to accommodate ski patrol operations. Work will be completed by the start of the 2018/19 ski season.
New Lift and Other Mountain Investments
The fixed-grip triple Lowell Thomas chairlift serving the upper North Side will be entirely replaced with a Doppelmayr detachable quad. Boosting capacity by 600 skiers per hour, the new lift will be in operation next season. In addition, the resort’s snowmaking capacity will be increased thanks to the acquisition of 31 high-efficiency snow guns. Also, five new glades covers a 50-acre area will extend Tremblant’s skiable terrain to 101 trails across 715 acres.
