Cincinnati, OHIO and Vancouver — Vancouver-based Meetingmax will provide online housing reservation software to the National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC), it was announced Sept. 7.
Through the agreement, Meetingmax’s online accommodation platform will handle hotel room bookings for NASC’s events and conferences, including the Sports Event Symposium. The system will handle all 2,500 room nights associated with the 2017 symposium, to be held in Sacramento, Calif., March 27 to 30.
“As a member organization, customer service is of the utmost importance to us,” says Lori Gamble, associate executive director, NASC. “By using the Meetingmax Housing software, our members and sponsors will be able to easily compare participating hotels and make their reservations online. On our end, it will allow our team to effectively manage the room blocks as they book up and quickly respond to requests for information and reservation changes.”
Previously NASC was not using a software system to track room nights. It relied on its hotel partners or the local convention and visitors bureaus to provide updates on its room blocks. As part of the association’s Hosted Buyer program, it managed the travel plans for a sizable group; handling changes was onerous and slow. It was first exposed to the system in 2015 when it held its symposium in Milwaukee, whose CVB uses Meetingmax.
“Once we saw the light, there was no going back,” continues Gamble. “We had more knowledge to speak intelligently to our members and had a much faster turnaround time for requests.”
Meetingmax’s technology has gained popularity amongst meeting planners, conference organizers, and CVBs. Recognized for its stability and ease of use, Meetingmax’s software also allows for customizable features.
