MCI, one of the world’s leading providers of strategic engagement and activation solutions, has acquired Event Spectrum Inc. (ESI), a Toronto-based creation agency for events, conferences, incentives and travel recognition programs.
“MCI Canada is already recognized as one of the country’s leading professional conference organizers (PCOs), providing full services for leading international associations hosting congresses in Canada,” said Rose Ironside, managing director of MCI Canada. “Lesser known are our creative solutions for corporate meetings and events, and growing our reputation in this area is a long-term key objective. Joining forces with ESI provides us with a strong platform for future growth in the meetings and events sector and an impressive corporate client-base.”
“For almost two decades, ESI has delivered successful projects for some of North America’s largest corporate companies, and we have been recognized for our original thinking, extraordinary level of service and attention to detail,” said Cynthia Richards, president of ESI, who will now lead MCI Canada’s corporate division as director of Meetings & Events. “We look forward to combining our award-winning creativity with MCI’s international best-practices, leading sustainability services and global buying power.”
This acquisition is part of MCI’s growth plan for the North American market, and comes just one week after MCI announced its merger with US-based Coulter Companies, which serves associations and other not-for-profits and corporations through its Coulter and Agency Coulter business units.
