PUNE, INDIA — Marriott International further expands its footprint in India with the opening of its fifth hotel in Pune, The Pune Marriott Suites, it was announced this month.
Located on a private road in the Koregaon Park area, the Pune Marriott Suites caters to extended-stay business and leisure travellers. All 199 suites are outfitted with fully equipped kitchenette and an outdoor balcony, and offer high-speed Internet access and spacious work desk. All ground-floor suites include private gardens.
“The opening of Pune Marriott Suites takes our portfolio to 33 hotels in India,” said Neeraj Govil, market vice-president, South Asia, of Marriott International. “This hotel further demonstrates our commitment to strengthen our relationship in Pune with the ownership, Panchshil Realty.”
Food and beverage options at the hotel offer a mix of local and international cuisine: Sen5es, the all-day restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner; the Bistro, serving Italian and Mediterranean cuisine; and the Oak Lounge Pub that’s open for dinner. Oak Lounge offers an extensive drinks list that includes about 35 varieties of single malts and whiskeys, including bourbon; a selection of cognacs and brandy, including Hennessy XO; a selection of classic cocktails such as the Manhattan, Kir Royale, Negroni, Rusty Nail and dry martini; frozen cocktails; and a variety of alcohol-free options. Each day, the property serves guests a complimentary buffet breakfast.
Pune Marriott Suites is a pet-friendly hotel. For the health-minded guest, the property features an onsite fitness facility offering cardio equipment, free weights and complimentary fitness classes. Additional recreational facilities include a gym, tennis court, squash court and outdoor swimming pool. A wellness-centre spa provides amenities such as Ayurvedic treatments and couples massage.
Guests can take advantage of local activities such as bike rentals and biking trails. Family and children’s activities extend to foosball, table tennis, X-Box games and Carrom, a “strike and pocket” game similar to billiards and tabletop shuffleboard.
