ALEXANDRIA, VA. — Mariela McIlwraith, CMP, CMM, MBA, president of Meeting Change, has won a Convention Industry Council (CIC) Pacesetter Award, it was announced in mid-October.
The Pacesetter Award recognizes emerging leaders and those who are making a difference in today’s marketplace. CIC announced the Pacesetter recipients in addition to unveiling its 2016 Hall of Leaders Award winners. The organization celebrated the winners at Jewel Nightclub at Aria Resort & Casino on Oct. 18.
A second Pacesetter Award winner, Aoife Delaney, was also announced. New Hall of Leaders inductees include Richard Aaron, MFA, CSEP Emeritus; Patrick Delaney, CMM, CITE, DMCP; Carol Krugman, CMP, CMM, M.Ed; John “Jack” Patronski and Colleen Rickenbacher, CMP, CSEP, CPC, CTA, CPECP.
The Hall of Leaders Award recognizes excellence, career achievement and inspiring change in the global meetings, conventions, exhibitions, travel and events industry. In three decades, 119 industry pioneers have been inducted into the Hall.
CIC champions the economic and social value of the meetings and event profession, and seeks to promote a strong meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry. A resource for excellent standards and practices within the industry with more than 33 member organizations representing over 103,500 individuals and 19,500 firms and properties, CIC accomplishes this by connecting people, forming strong global partnerships, promoting excellence through certification and accreditation programs and voluntary standards and best practices, and fostering collaboration on industry issues and actively supporting them.
