The Moxy London Excel has opened. Marriott International’s millennial-focused, experiential brand, which offers the “style and spirit of a boutique hotel at an affordable price,” is currently operating in eight global destinations including Munich, Milan, Berlin and New Orleans.
The property is located near the ExCeL London convention centre and London City Airport, in the city’s East End. It features:
- one flexible meeting room with natural light
- contemporary lobby with relaxing, modern furniture
- Moxy library, where guests can pick up a book
- selfie-ready photo-booth inspired elevators, complete with props
- gym with pink Moxy punching bags
The “Living Room” is the hotel’s center of activity. It has sealed concrete floors, intriguing art, references to local culture, ambient lighting, abundant USB and power outlets and “furiously fast and free” WiFi. It is available for special events or cocktails.
The property has 164 contemporary guestrooms, ranging from standard to family size. All rooms are outfitted with sound-reducing walls, 42″ LCD flat screen televisions, free WiFi, multiple USB ports, and comfortable armchairs. Design features include glass shelving, peg wall storage, and bathrooms with power showers, large mirrors, bright pink hair dryers and complimentary Muk toiletries.
On the f&b side, Moxy’s 24/7 B&F (beverage and food) is a self-service concept that gives guests access to what they want, when they want it. It offers fresh joices, a coffee bar, panini sandwiches and healthy alternatives including salad and antipasti. In the evening, a Crockpot entree is served along with a variety of cocktails, craft beers and specialty wines.
The full-service bar doubles as the hotel’s physical check-in. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a complimentary “Got Moxy” cocktail.
