CHENGDU, CHINA — JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts has debuted JW Marriott Hotel Chengdu, it was announced Oct. 19.
Offering 298 rooms, 47 suites, and an executive lounge, the hotel, located in the central business district, features a contemporary design inspired by traditional Chinese motifs.
JW Marriott Hotel Chengdu offers over 19,000 square feet of event spaces, each equipped with audiovisual and comprehensive business facilities. The 10,300-square-foot pillar-less Grand Ballroom connects to a private rooftop pre-function area with garden, and can host a reception for 700 or theatre-style meeting for 800. Another eight multipurpose function rooms are also available.
On the gastronomic side, Man Ho restaurant serves Cantonese cuisine with Sichuan flavors. Inspired by figures in traditional Cantonese opera, the main dining room features abstract displays of dragons and raging waves. For groups, Man Ho offers five private dining rooms.
Other dining options include Table, an all-day restaurant serving international à la carte dishes as well as a buffet; Chengdu Baking Company, featuring sandwiches, desserts and coffee; and The Lounge, offering cocktails, pre-dinner drinks and appetizers.
JW Marriott Chengdu offers wellness facilities including a spa featuring an extensive menu of treatments, and an indoor heated swimming pool that is open year-round. Guests can work out the fully-equipped fitness centre featuring endurance-testing machines and free weights.
The 345-room hotel offers sweeping views of Chengdu’s newest landmarks, the Sichuan Library and Chengdu Museum, and is adjacent to Tianfu Square and the famed Kuan & Zhai Alleys.
Marriott International manages this hotel as part of a long-term relationship with the owning company, Maoye International. This collaboration marks the first of five planned projects in China.
