Anytime a direct flight is announced from Canada to Europe, it’s time to rejoice. In this case, Condor Airlines has confirmed that they will begin flying from Edmonton to Frankfurt (and return) this summer, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Myron Keehn, President and CEO of Edmonton International Airport is thrilled about the new endeavour. He says, “The addition of a new non-stop destination to Frankfurt Germany provides enhanced access to Europe for our region’s business and cargo community along with opening up business and tourism opportunities in both markets. This flight builds YEG’s connectivity to Europe and we thank Condor for their partnership and investment in the Edmonton Metro Region.”

The Boeing 767-300 will feature economy, premium and business class, so there are plenty of options and comfort levels. Business class will feature lie-flat seats, a touch-screen entertainment system, premium menu options and complimentary beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Condor’s Mikko Turtiainen, Director of Sales, The Americas, says the partnership will be a win for everyone. “In the past, travellers from this region of Canada would have to make multiple connections to get to their final European destination and often spend more doing so. We are pleased to introduce an affordable and convenient alternative. As Germany’s number one leisure airline, Condor is also looking forward to introducing German vacationers to this most spectacular province of Canada.”
