Alexi Hakim has been appointed general manager of the InterContinental Toronto Centre.
Hakim joined InterContinental Hotels Groups in 2002. He has worked in several roles throughout the United States, Europe and the Near East, including vice-president of Full Service Hotel Operations – North America in Atlanta and chief operating officer in the United Kingdom and Ireland. He has assisted in opening more than 35 hotels for the company, and played a key role in developing teams, increasing market share and profitability, while producing outstanding guest and employee satisfaction scores.
Hakim began his career at Crowne Plaza, spending eight years in various roles with increasing responsibilities before moving to Promus Hotels, Doubletree and Hilton. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Greater Toronto Hotel Association.
