William Rathwell, customer management lead for The City of Calgary, has earned his Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) designation from the International Live Events Association (ILEA).
The CSEP designation recognizes event professionals who have successfully demonstrated the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform all components of a special event. The International Live Events Association (ILEA) endorses and manages the voluntary CSEP program for those who meet established standards.
In addition to Rathwell, the following event professionals now have their CSEP designation:
- Tim Altbaum, Vario Productions, San Diego, CA

- Marcus Jones, Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ
- Virginia Schlitt, Travaasa Experiential Resorts, Austin, TX
- Tom Sibbald, Jones Lang LaSalle, Greater New York Area

“I am thrilled to acknowledge another group of certified event professionals with the CSEP designation,” said Ingrid Nagy, CSEP, ILEA president. “By earning this prestigious credential, these live events professionals are contributing to the industry’s overall knowledge base, removing performance uncertainty from clients’ minds and opening up market opportunities.”
