The new Iberostar Cancun beachfront hotel re-opened today after an extensive $100-million renovation that transformed the resort into an all-inclusive property.
Formerly the Hilton Cancun Hotel, the new Iberostar Cancun was acquired by Spanish hospitality hotelier Iberostar Hotels & Resorts earlier this year.
The new five-star beachfront property features 426 ocean-view guestrooms, suites and villas, a soccer field, tennis court, seven pools, the only 18-hole golf course in Cancun and a modern fitness centre and spa. Extensive updates have been made to the property’s culinary experience that include a new Gran Buffet and four speciality restaurants: gourmet, Japanese, a steak house and Mexican. As well, renovations included a redesigned main lobby, hotel lobby bar, terraces around the pool, a “Miniclub” water park and “Teenieclub” for youths.
The hotel features the only oceanfront convention centre in Cancun with 49,000 sq. ft. of meeting space over 22 meeting rooms. An additional 60,000 sq. ft. of outdoor function space is also available.
