Mevisha Maistry from the Shaw Conference Centre and Exhibition Place’s Andrew Landrigan have been named to the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) 30 Under 30 class of 2018. The list celebrates venue professionals from around the world employed in arenas, stadiums, convention centres and performing arts theatres.
“There were many extremely qualified and worth applicants this year,” says Kathryn Eades, IAVM Foundation director of development. “Tough choices were made by the Foundation’s large group of judges, which included members from the Foundation Board of Trustees and numerous certified venue professionals. Those chosen exemplify the characteristics of leadership and developing talent necessary to the future of our industry.”

Mevisha Maistry
Maistry is a marketing and communications specialist at Edmonton’s Shaw Conference Centre. A graduate of the University of Alberta and the public relations program at MacEwan University, her diverse experience includes amateur sport, local and international festivals, and convention centres.
“Mevisha is a bright and talented employee with tremendous leadership qualities,” says Richard Wong, general manager, Shaw Conference Centre. “I’m proud to have her represent Edmonton and the Shaw Conference Centre, and congratulate her on this outstanding achievement.”

Andrew Landrigan
Landrigan is an event and meeting coordinator at the Board of Governors of Exhibition Place in Toronto. A graduate of the University of Guelph-Humber, he has extensive experience leading large teams and managing complex operations.
“The Exhibition Place team is very proud that Andrew Landrigan was selected as one of the event professionals to be part of the 30 Under 30 Class of 2018,” says Arlene Campbell, CPA, CA, general manager, Sales & Event Management, Exhibition Place. “Andrew is an excellent team member who brings creativity, dedication and enthusiasm to all that he does. We are delighted that Andrew will be attending the IAVM conference in his hometown as part of the class of 2018. Exhibition Place will be hosting the Association Boot Camps on July 23 in the Enercare Centre and Beanfield Centre.”
