Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and PCMA Education Foundation have launched its Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, which will provide assistance to members in the meetings and events industry who have been impacted by the storm.
Deborah Sexton, president and CEO, PCMA said: “I invite everyone in the business events community to help our colleagues who are struggling with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to help southeastern Texas emerge from this disaster.”
The George R. Brown Convention Center, the Toyota Center and the NRG Center in Houston are among the convention and event facilities across Texas that have been turned into temporary shelters for those displaced by Hurricane Harvey, a record-breaking storm that has resulted in severe flooding.
Since its launch on August 30th, the fund has raised $4,925 of its $25,000 target, with 100 percent of donations going to those in need.
