TELA, Honduras and MCLEAN, Va. — Indura Beach & Golf Resort has joined Curio – A Collection by Hilton, marking the brand’s debut in Central America, it was announced Nov. 10.
Situated in a tropical landscape, the hotel’s 60 junior suites are located in 15 villas. Guestroom highlights include bamboo floors, pine walls and floor-to-ceiling windows that open to wraparound terraces with ocean, golf course or garden views.
The property features the first championship 18-hole golf course in Honduras. Set on 1,800 acres, the golf course was designed by golfer Gary Player and is overseen by Troon Golf management company.
Maina Spa offers spa treatments that combine aromatherapy, phototherapy and thalassotherapy healing philosophies.
A focal point within the resort, the pool features three different swim areas, and a 1,500-square-foot fitness centre offers a private fitness studio. Fitness classes, beach yoga, aerobics and Zumba are regularly scheduled. Outdoor activities include kayaking, windsurfing, horseback riding, snorkeling and bird watching.
On the f&b side, the resort features four restaurants, which use local ingredients grown on site and feature Central and South American recipes.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Bazul (Blue Bay) Restaurant offers familiar favorites with locally inspired and sourced specialties. Duna (Water) Beach Lounge serves fresh fruit popsicles and snacks.
Sagadi (Grass) Golf Lounge operates at breakfast and offers lunch on the go. Bahari (Ancestors) Bar Lounge is available for morning coffee or evening cocktails, and serves tapas. On select evenings, the bar will feature local musicians.
On the meetings and events side, the property offers 3,200 square feet of space accommodating 400 people. Options include a ballroom, courtyards and outdoor lawns.
With Tela Bay on the North Coast of Honduras as its backdrop, and Jeanette Kawas National Park as its surroundings, Indura Beach & Golf Resort is part of a larger destination resort that will eventually include two to three hotels and 800 residential units.
