The Hazelton has launched an art concierge program.
If you believe, as Picasso did, that “art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life,” then you may want to work art into your next event.
Hazelton Hotel’s new art concierge program, perhaps the first such hotel initiative in Canada, makes it easy.
Directed by Sam Mogelonsky, a working artist with a Masters Degree in Fine Arts, the program offers guests and planners an opportunity to get a “close-up” on the hotel’s extensive art collection, plus both local and city art scenes.
In the surrounding Bloor-Yorkville area alone there are about 40 art dealers and galleries.
Meeting space in this intimate, five-star hotel – referred to by GM David Mounteer as a “living art gallery” – is limited to a maximum of 60 people for a sit-down meal and 25 in the plush, Hollywood-grade Silver Screen Room.
But Mogelonsky says any event can be enhanced with a guided overview of in-house sculptures and hanging works of art.
For small group optional tours or spousal programs, planners can also request customized art tours of the neighbourhood or the city.
