SARNIA, ONT. — More than 200 guests, including city leaders, business leaders and travel influencers gathered to celebrate Vrancor Group’s official launch of its newest hotel, the six-storey, 95-room Hampton Inn by Hilton Sarnia/Point Edward in mid-May.
In attendance were members of Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce, senior executives from Sarnia/Point Edward’s top corporations and travel influencers from local sporting, travel and event planning companies.
“As the first new-build hotel option to open in the area in more than two decades, we are grateful for the warm welcome we have received from the business community, local residents and guests visiting the area,” said Karen McQuade, regional director, sales and marketing, Vrancor Group.
Grand Opening attendees included Mayor Larry McKenzie, Village of Point Edward, who delivered welcome remarks on behalf of the community and Council. Participating in the ribbon-cutting were McKenzie and other luminaries such as Shirley deSilva, president and CEO, Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce.
The hotel features the brand’s Perfect Mix Lobby, designed as an extension of the guestroom with a variety of seating and lighting options. Guestrooms are equipped with the brand’s signature Clean and Fresh Hampton bed, 42-inch flat-screen TV, microwave, fridge, spacious in-room desk and pod coffeemaker. All-white bathrooms feature white quartz countertops.
Other amenities include free WiFi; 24-hour business centre with complimentary printing; flexible meeting space accommodating up to 150 people; fitness centre and heated indoor pool. In addition, the property provides free On the House hot breakfast as well as Hampton’s On the Run breakfast bags, available Monday through Friday.
As is standard for the Hampton by Hilton brand, the hotel features local photography and artwork. Lambton County is reflected via a colour palette incorporating greens, taupes and browns accented by eggplant and saffron yellow. Artwork captures images of the Blue Water Bridge and nature-inspired photography from the surrounding area.
