Dawn Baldwin has been named Director of Sales for the Halifax Convention Centre (HCC).
The new HCC is a key element of the $500-million, one-million sq. ft. Nova Centre, which includes a yet-to-be-named 120-room four-star hotel, financial tower, retail space and 120,000 sq. ft. of rental space, including a 30,000 sq. ft. ballroom. It is surrounded by 1,371 bedrooms in six neighbouring properties.
Opening in the spring of 2016, the HCC already has signed contracts with 16 major conventions.
Baldwin’s primary focus is servicing international clients. She oversees a sales team which sells both the new HCC and the existing nearby Halifax World Trade and Convention Centre (WTCC), which hosts over 550 events a year.
Baldwin has 17 years experience marketing Halifax during which time she has built strong relationships with clients, venues and partners. Since 2012 she has also served as MPI Atlantic Canada Chapter president.
