Vrancor Group has announced the appointment of John Teljeur as general manager of Pinestone Resort & Conference Centre in Haliburton, Ontario. Teljeur brings extensive experience in the hospitality industry, including 13 years with Delta Hotels, to the position.
Teljeur started his career journey in the early days of his childhood, while taking his first hospitality steps at his family’s resort business. While working in different functions, he developed a strong passion for hospitality, which ultimately brought him to Pinestone Resort where, in 2002, he joined the team as Director of Sales. After seven years of leading the sales effort and helping Pinestone become recognized as “The Delta Hotel of the Year” in 2003, he was promoted to Director of Sales & Marketing, overseeing Delta’s three Muskoka Resorts (Rocky Crest Resort, Grandview Inn and Sherwood Inn). He also had regional sales responsibilities to develop group business on behalf of Delta’s fourteen hotels in Ontario.
Throughout the years, as a resident of Minden, Ontario, Teljeur has been heavily involved in many ongoing community initiatives including his role as the founder of Food Crusade, an initiative to assist local organizations address the issues of hunger and poverty within the community. He also co-founded the Haliburton Highlands Food Bank Network and Haliburton Highlands Community Garden Network. Teljeur is the current chair of the Wilberforce Food Centre project and a board member and fund-raising chair of the Ontario Association of Food Banks. In 2013 and 2014, he was the chair and organizer of the Canadian National Pond Hockey Championships and was recognized as “Highlander of the Year” in 2011.
