Christiane Germain, co-president of Group Germain Hotels, has announced the appointments of Julie Brisebois as general manager of Alt Hotel Ottawa, which will open in spring 2016, and Marie Pier Germain as GM of Alt Hotel Montreal, which opened in 2014.
Christiane says that Brisebois and Germain are both experienced hoteliers, and the company is delighted to have them at the helms of the respective properties. “Having excellent customer service at heart, we are confident that they will know how to infuse the company’s values [to the staff and operation of the properties] in order to offer a unique experience to our guests,” she adds.

Julie Brisebois, GM, Alt Hotel Ottawa
A career change in 2004 led Brisebois to the hospitality industry. She has worked for Group Germain for 10 years, beginning with a position at Le Germain Hotel Montreal. Since then she has been general manager of Alt Hotel Dix30 in Brossard, and more recently Alt Hotel Montreal. Her management experience makes her the perfect person to give life to the new Alt Hotel Ottawa.
“When I was young, I visited Ottawa several times, including during the magnificent Tulip Festival!” she says. “Today not only has Group Germain Hotels given me the opportunity to open the seventh Alt establishment, but I will also be able to call the nation’s capital home and discover it to the fullest! My first impressions are that the people are friendly, the town is filled with small treasures, from restaurants to cafes, and festivals of all kinds. In short, Ottawa is a city rich in culture, history and full of plans for the future. I feel privileged to be part of it all and I cannot wait to help our guests discover it all!”

Marie Pier Germain, GM, Alt Hotel Montreal
Marie Pier Germain succeeds Julie Brisebois as GM of Alt Hotel Montreal. She has a degree in mechanical engineering from Queen’s University and an EMBA degree from McGill-HEC Montreal. She joined the family business in 2006. Over the course of the last decade, she has managed teams of architects, designers and engineers in charge of the construction and renovation of the Group’s hotels, and until recently directed operations at Alt Hotel Montreal.
“As general manager at Alt Hotel Montreal, I have the privilege of mixing with our guests,” she says. “They are really at the heart of the decisions we make and as such, I am delighted to share our expertise with the team so that they offer a unique hotel experience to our guests.”
