As part of its multi-phase renovation of meeting space, Grande Lakes Orlando, a resort comprised of a Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott, will begin work this fall on ballrooms, breakout rooms and meetings space foyers at both properties.
Spaces slated for a Fall 2013 ugrade include the 20,000-sq.-ft. Palazzo Ballroom at JW Marriott Orlando and the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom, as well as nine JW breakout rooms and the The Ritz-Carlton Orlando meetings space foyers. The renovation includes carpeting, wall treatments, paint, decor, foyer furniture, window treatments, and lighting (including impressive chandeliers).
“Following our 2011 renovation of all of the resort’s 1,582 rooms and suites, as well as our 30,000-sq.-ft. Mediterranean Ballroom last year, we are excited to continue the upgrades and look forward to offering revitalized meeting spaces to our guests,” says Karen Englund, director of sales and marketing, Grande Lakes Orlando. “In addition to these space upgrades, in October 2012 we introduced one of our most exciting new offerings for groups: Whisper Creek Farm, a 7,000-sq.-ft. fruit and vegetable garden with an adjoining 6,000-sq.-ft. outdoor event space.”
Grande Lakes Orlando opened in July 2003, as the first luxury resort in the city. The 500 acre resort has more than 150,000-sq.-ft. of indoor space, including 40 breakout rooms, in addition to 115,000-sq.-ft. of outdoor space. It can accommodate events for groups of up to 1,650 people.
Renovations of all meeting spaces will be completed by the start of 2015. Other planned enhancements over the next year include a brand-new restaurant concept and renovation for The Ritz-Carlton Orlando casual dining restaurant and a new look for the 40,000-sq.-ft spa.
