Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace is slated to open Spring 2013
The official countdown to the opening of Four Seasons’s first hotel in Russia has begun. The 177-room Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace St. Petersburg, located in the heart of this historic city, and just two blocks from the Winter Palace and the Hermitage Museum, is scheduled to open in the spring of 2013.
Designed in 1817 by French architect Auguste de Montferrand as the residence of Princess Lobanova-Rostovskaya, and painstakingly restored by Four Seasons over the last nine years, the five-story Lion Palace will offer 8,450 sq. ft. of meeting space accommodating up to 350 delegates.
Beyond the stately and distinctive yellow façade , the five-story hotel will also house a four-level spa, two restaurants (one serving Italian, the other Japanese cuisine), a bar, plus a tea lounge for breakfast, afternoon tea and Russian specialties.
The opening of the Lion Palace St. Petersburg is another example of Four Seasons’s focus on rescuing unique heritage buildings and incorporating them into its growing collection of luxury European properties.
