MUNICH — In celebration of its 100th anniversary, automaker BMW has made its expanded function facilities available for events, it was announced Sept. 8.
Meeting planners now have access to the BMW Group Classic site, the home of the first BMW factories, as part of its enlarged function facilities that collectively have been renamed the BMW Group Event Forum.
In addition to the new meeting space, the BMW Group Event Forum also includes the BMW Welt and the BMW Museum. These two facilities feature 20 different event areas and hold 500 events a year.
The BMW Welt Museum showcases the 100-year history of the BMW brand and displays 125 of the most valuable BMW cars, motorcycles and engines. The new meeting space, the BMW Group Classic, can accommodate up to 30 people in each of three workshop rooms and 400 in the aircraft engine hall.
The vehicle exhibition gallery area is home to 80 exhibits from the company’s 100-year history. In addition, the gallery is available for customizable experiences such as exclusive tours of the historic collection, the workshop and 100-year room. Staff at BMW Group Classic is also available to give private talks on the history of the company and its three brands, BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce.
Via BMW on Demand, event attendees at its Group Classic sites can lease BMW models such as the M3 or the BMW i8 by the hour or by the day and then get behind the wheel of those cars. Meeting planners can also offer attendees safety training or driving in hazardous conditions classes staffed by BMW instructors.
BMW will be celebrating its 100 years of manufacturing with a Sept. 10 festival at the Olympiapark Park Harp, the BMW Welt and the BMW Museum. Highlights will include 1,000 BMW owners from all over the world convening at the Olympiapark Park Harp, the BMW Welt displaying its Next 100 Years interactive exhibits, and free tours of the BMW Museum.
