MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront has unveiled its expanded and renovated property, it was announced Sept. 15.
Following a 12-month, multimillion dollar renovation and expansion, the 30-acre seaside hotel, formerly known as the Springmaid Beach Resort, now features a 20,000-square-foot main building, ocean view restaurant and lounge, grab & go snack area and outdoor entertainment terrace.
Located in the resort’s Live Oak and Palmetto Towers, all 452 redesigned oceanfront guestrooms, outfitted with new ebony wood furnishings, feature 40-inch HD TVs, mini-refrigerator, microwave and private balcony with outdoor seating.
As part of the renovation, the three-story conference centre’s 35,000 square feet of flexible indoor space were outfitted with new decor, wall treatments, carpet and paint, and provide access to oceanfront covered balconies. The three ballrooms are divisible into 19 meeting or breakout rooms.
The main building now houses the new lobby area and guest registration and offers views of the Atlantic Ocean shoreline as well as new amenities, including restaurants and a food market.
Food and beverage offerings now include an oceanfront restaurant and lounge, a refurbished Springmaid Pier restaurant and a full-service commissary-style market.
Featuring indoor and outdoor seating, Ocean Blue Restaurant serves a menu of Southern U.S.-style comfort food such as buttermilk-fried chicken and barbecued ribs. A bourbon- and rum-centric bar anchors the open-air Ocean Blue Lounge, which serves cocktails, light bites and appetizers.
The Market provides grab & go options such as breakfast pastries, hot and cold sandwiches, salads and pizzas.
On the upper level, the Ocean Terrace outdoor entertainment deck, Ocean Boardroom and Ocean Blue Private Dining Area are available for private events and functions.
Located on Springmaid Pier, the redesigned casual Southern Tide Bar & Grille overlooks the Atlantic and serves seafood, burgers, salads and quick bar bites. Fishtales general store offers drinks, ice cream and Starbucks coffee.
