MCLEAN, Va. — Hilton and Atlantica Hotels have signed a management license agreement whereby Atlantica will develop and manage DoubleTree by Hilton hotels in Brazil. As part of the agreement, the companies plan to launch the first of those DoubleTree properties in Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil.
Scheduled to open in 2021, the 141-room DoubleTree by Hilton Pontal Porto Alegre will open in a development that will include a shopping mall and office tower. The hotel will feature over 10,500 square feet of meetings and events space.
DoubleTree by Hilton joins Atlantica’s portfolio of 19 brands represented by 120 hotels in Brazil, including Hilton Garden Inn. Hilton and Atlantica have opened four Hilton Garden Inn hotels in Brazil. The companies plan to open two additional Hilton Garden Inn hotels in Fortaleza and São Paulo.
Hilton currently has a portfolio of more than 140 hotels and resorts in the Caribbean and Latin America, including seven hotels in Brazil. The company is actively pursuing additional growth opportunities and currently has a pipeline of more than 90 hotels throughout the region.
DoubleTree by Hilton has a global portfolio of more than 540 properties offering more than 127,000 rooms across six continents.
