The Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort and Spa is the 2014 recipient of Delta Hotels and Resorts’ Managed Hotel of the Year Award, an honour given annually to the Delta property with top marks in financial performance, guest satisfaction and employee satisfaction.
“We have been on this journey for many years now and I am so proud of what we have achieved as a team,” says general manager Kimberley Hughes. “Hotel of the year doesn’t happen unless every team member is moving towards the same goals.”
In 2013, Delta Victoria achieved Platinum in Excellence, Innovation and Wellness as measured by the standard set out by Excellence Canada. To this day, the property holds the highest score in the history of Delta Hotels. “This set the stage for the team to go on the following year and be awarded Hotel of the Year,” says Jackie Spencer, People Resources director.
Nicole MacKinnon, director of sales and marketing, adds that when you take care of your stakeholders, they take care of the business. “Employees who love what they do will take care of our guests and our guests will tell other guests making the business thrive,” she explains.
Delta Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort and Spa recently completed an extensive multi-million dollar renovation to all 240 guestrooms, 13,500 square feet of meeting space, its lobby and Lure Restaurant & Bar.
