Hospitality Helping Hands, one of two charitable events held during Convening Leaders 2017, raised money for and revitalized Sammy’s House, a not-for-profits agency in Austin that provides services for children who are medically fragile and/or developmentally delayed.
The event, which has held on January 8, 2017, was hosted by the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau (Austin CVB) and the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), and sponsored by Experient, Marriott and Global Experience Specialists (GES). It also sold 150 volunteer slots, which together with the sponsorships raised $12,850 US for Sammy’s House.
In addition to the cheque, the 150 volunteers worked on a variety of indoor and outdoor projects at the facility including playground repair, yard maintenance, toy sorting, sanitizing classrooms and other general repairs and maintenance.
The 2017 edition of PCMA’s annual conference, Convening Leaders, ran January 8-11, 2017 at the Austin Convention Centre, Austin, Texas.
