TORONTO — Canadian Society of Professional Event Planners (CanSPEP) has unveiled its 2016-2017 board of directors, it was announced last month.
President: Tuesday Johnson-MacDonald, CMP, CMM, Tap Resources.
Past President: Bettyanne Sherrer, CMP, CMM, ProPlan Conferences & Events.
Secretary/Treasurer: Patricia Pearson, CMP, CanPlan Event & Conference Services.
Vice-President, Communications: Yvonne Dewar, CMP, Elastic Communications & Events.
Vice-President, Communities & Member Engagement: Miranda Salvatore, Red House Events.
Vice-President, Education: Natalie Lowe, CMM, Celebrate Niagara.
Vice-President, Events: Tina Hughes, Creative Relations Event Planning.
Vice-President, Marketing: Michelle Planche, CMP, Paradigm Events.
Vice-President, Membership: Joe Orecchio, Road Ahead Meetings & Events.
Vice-President, Partnerships: Mariette Haras, CMP, Big Events.
“We are fortunate to have a powerhouse board of directors again this year. We have identified many objectives to cover off in the next 12 to 18 months, and this board is really going to make it happen. I am looking forward to working with each of them this year,” said CanSPEP president Tuesday Johnson-MacDonald.
“For the first time, an indigenous entrepreneurial planner has taken the helm, which complements the diversity of the CanSPEP membership. As a recognized leader in the business events industry, the board is enthusiastic to support Tuesday as we roll up our sleeves and get to work alongside her,” said Bettyanne Sherrer, past-president.
The Canadian Society of Professional Event Planners (CanSPEP) is a society of independent event professionals with a leading national voice in the event industry, and is the only association in Canada that offers exclusive membership to independent event planner entrepreneurs.
Formed in 1996, the association provides forums in which members exchange ideas, develop skills through educational programs, and create a public awareness around the profession of event planners.
