OAKVILLE, Ont. — Engineer and Canada Space Agency astronaut Julie Payette will be the keynote speaker at GBTA Conference 2017 Toronto, to be held May 23-25 at Metro Toronto Convention Centre, it was announced Jan. 11.
Payette was one of four people chosen to become a Canada Space Agency astronaut in 1992 and has flown missions aboard the space shuttle Discovery in 1999 and Endeavour in 2009.
She was also the first Canadian to board the International Space Station and has been awarded NASA’s Exceptional Service Medal.
Payette will be speaking on May 24 during the conference luncheon.
