The Calgary TELUS Convention Centre (CTCC) has received BOMA BEst Level 3 certification.
As defined by BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada), “buildings at this level of certification have higher performance and demonstrate excellence in management. Level 3 buildings typically have been managing with energy and environmental performance in mind for several years. Management in these buildings is usually forward-thinking, with flexibility to pursue environmental initiatives.”
Attaining Level 3 means that all of the BOMA Best Practices in environmental management have been met, with a score assessment of 80 per cent to 89 per cent.
For its part, the Calgary Convention Centre scored 88 per cent for the South Building and 85 per cent for the North Building.
In 2005, the business conference facility was the first in Alberta to receive the BOMA Go Green award for environmental achievements.
